Walk Down the Aisle Songs: Bride and Bridal Party Processional Ideas
By Ryley Smithson, Tennyson Events · Updated October 2026
The most popular walk down the aisle song on our run sheets is "Can't Help Falling in Love" (the Crazy Rich Asians version), chosen by 9 of our couples. "To Build a Home" by The Cinematic Orchestra follows with 5, then "A Thousand Years" with 4. For the bridal party processional, "Here Comes the Sun" and "Truly Madly Deeply" lead, with 3 each.
These lists come from the ceremony run sheets of 183 weddings we've played, 2017 to 2026, mostly 2024 to 2026. 90 of those couples named a bride entrance song and 42 named a separate bridal party processional song. How to choose your aisle song
Start with the walk, not the song. Where does the music start, and how far is the aisle?
Pick the moment it should peak. Most couples want the lift to land as the bride comes into view. For most songs, the best entry point is the first chorus or a clear instrumental build rather than the opening seconds.
Check the length. A song far longer than the walk gets cut off by the celebrant. We can trim or fade it. A typical aisle walk is under two minutes, so a 3 to 4 minute song usually needs a trim or fade.
Ask about a custom edit. 3 of our couples had a custom edit made for their processional. I love editing a bride's entry song. The bridal party walks down the aisle, the song is customised to the time they need, and the bride enters at the exact right moment when the lyrics hit. I'm such a fan. It's why I offer to edit the songs. It's just beautiful. We do 1 to 2 hours of playlist and edit building before the wedding.
Check the lyrics. Read the full lyrics of any song with vocals before you lock it in, since some love songs turn out to be about break-ups or loss.
Go classic, and pick one song. Pick something that fits the moment. Going classic is always better than going new. You can't beat the clichés. There's a reason they're clichés. I would always pick one song over two.
Versions, covers and instrumentals
Many picks above are not the radio original. Acoustic covers, piano versions and string quartet arrangements are common on both lists.
Instrumental versions leave room for the moment to breathe.
A cover with vocals gives you a familiar tune with a softer feel.
If the original is your song, tell us the exact version. Streaming and download versions of the same track can differ in length and intro, so name the exact version you want.
Bridal party processional: keep it different
If you use a second song, treat it as a warm-up. Many couples go lighter and a little faster than the bride's song, and the lists above show it: "Here Comes the Sun", "Lean on Me" and "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" all appear. 2 of our couples had flower boys in the processional, which is a good reason to keep the pace easy. A steady, walkable tempo suits a procession, because fast songs make people rush
Cueing the walk. The celebrant is in control of the ceremony, so I'm always cued by them, and we're ready to go. The most important thing is that the celebrant goes out and checks the bride and bridal party are lined up and ready before the ceremony starts. That way, when they come back in and I push play, the bride is ready. Mistakes happen when no one has checked. You don't want to leave that to chance. It's better to just walk outside and check. If the celebrant is a friend or family member, or it's one of their first weddings, I'll often go and check myself.
Quick answers
What is the most popular song to walk down the aisle to?
"Can't Help Falling in Love", the Crazy Rich Asians version, was chosen by 9 of our couples, ahead of "To Build a Home" with 5.
What are good bridesmaids entrance songs?
"Here Comes the Sun" and "Truly Madly Deeply" were each chosen by 3 couples for the bridal party processional.
Do I need a different song for the bridal party and the bride?
No. 90 of our couples named a bride song and 42 named a separate bridal party song, so plenty use a single track or let the celebrant lead.
Can you play my song as an instrumental or cover?
Yes. Tell us the version you want and we'll check it plays cleanly, and edit it if needed.
Who plays the music at the ceremony?
We do. Celebrants and coordinators often prefer one team for the ceremony and reception, and we set up the celebrant's mic and speaker placement too.
